Kill Bill 2, V: The Final Battle

Friday I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2. I enjoyed it a lot, but found myself wishing some of the talking had been cut out. I left the theater feeling a newfound appreciation of the first film, though having benefitted from the backstory provided by KBV2.

Meanwhile, on the homefront, I have been watching the first two parts of V: The Final Battle. I'm happy that I can finally see it on DVD, but I have to admit that it pretty much sucks compared to V: The original mini-series.

While the first one was remotely believable, this second one just has far too many scenes where the rebels are able to strike against the visitors with too much ease. I mean, c'mon, these aliens are able to travel 65 million miles to Earth, but can't invent a simple proximity detector to tell them when rebels are sneaking around in the bushes?
